Artist notes: This Great Horned Owl reminded me, in his posture and the patterns on his plumage of the old men who wore three piece suits. When I started to paint his round eyes, I just saw buttons then a chain and the compass. I painted old woolen cloth swatches for the patterns of the trees and sky.
